"The Church is Not a Building" ... Except when it is. Except when millions of prayers have been prayed there, and millions of Holy Communions received there. Except when you honeymooned there ... or worshiped there ... or felt your spirit quicken there. Or knew God was with you there. The same yearning to know God that draws you into our old church on Greenfield Hill has drawn people to Notre Dame for over a thousand years. We ourselves have lit candles for many of you there. We've received communion there. We've seen whole Bible Stories come to life in its artwork. It is said in scripture "I was glad when they said to me, let us go into the house of the Lord ... Let us worship in the beauty of holiness ... How lovely is thy dwelling place, O Lord my God." It's okay to be shedding tears for Notre Dame. We are. in Christ's love, David and Alida
Today is Palm Sunday.... we rejoice in celebration of the triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem.
This Sunday, 4/14, is Palm Sunday when we will have two beautiful services. One at 9 am, a ‘Church First’ Sunday where children join us in worship for our palm processional before departing for church school at 9:20. And the 2nd service at 10:30am, with distribution of palms. We hope you will join us!

Everyone is warmly invited to the annual GHCC Progressive Dinner scheduled for Saturday, April 6th. Never been? Here’s how it works!! Everyone gathers together for appetizers at the church where you’ll be given your dinner assignment! Following the appetizer course, everyone departs for church member homes, where they enjoy dinner (catered by Cinch! Chicken piccata, roasted baby potatoes and grilled asparagus, yumm!) in smaller groups of 8-10 people. Everyone contributes to the dinner by bringing a salad, appetizer or dessert … or by hosting one of the dinners! After dinner, everyone will gather at Andy and Linda Allegretti's lovely home for coffee and dessert. This event has become a very popular GHCC tradition, enjoyed by both folks who are new to the church and those who have been with us for many years. if you would like to join in the fun, we do ask that you sign up by Sunday, March 31st. If you would like to sign up for the event and/or volunteer to host, or just have a question, please contact the Church Office at [email protected]

Kate's Clothes Countdown to Dogwood has Begun! This is our challenge for you: each day place one clothing item that you no longer wear or use bags provided at the Church House (or just use one of your own garbage bags). At the end of Lent, on April 21, bring the bag to church house (2nd floor classroom at the end of the hall) as your donation to The Dogwood Festival. Do good and feel good while channeling your inner Marie Kondo. Did you know that all net proceeds of the Festival go to charity?
